Mandate:

To coordinate delivery, and supervision of the service delivery interventions defined by the respective departments. Working closely with the Provincial teams, the department shall focus on ensuring services and strategies for public health are delivered in a quality, and timely manner.

Core Functions:

  • National coordination for the provision of public health and sanitation services
  • Develop, and implement systems for quality assurance in provision of public health and sanitation services
  • Coordination of integrated, supportive supervision from the national level
  • Coordinating of capacity building (especially training) initiatives for the delivery of public health and sanitation services
  • Develop and implement logistics systems to plan and monitor availability of medicines, commodities, equipment and public health commodities required for the provision of primary health care services.
  • Coordinate operationalisation of quarterly planning and reporting on service delivery
