The Ministry of Public Health and Sanitation wishes to recruit suitable persons to fill this position in the Kenya Health Sector Support Programme (KHSSP) on short term fixed contract of twelve months

Purpose

Reporting to the programme's procurement officer, the selected candidate will enhance the capacity of the programme to execute its procurement functions detailed in workplans and budgets. Specifically, the officer shall be responsible for:

1. Assisting the programme's procurement officer in the development and implementation of KHSSP procurement plans
2. Assisting in the development and use of a monitoring tool for procurement processes to track status of requisitions, contracts awarded, orders placed and supplies made in order to ensure timely supply of goods and services
3. Working with implementing agencies to fast-track prioritized procurements
4. Assisting in verification of orders and deliveries
5. Inventory management

Minimum qualifications

1. Basic university degree
2. Possess relevant professional qualifications and certifications in purchasing and supplies, stores and logistics management (Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply qualifications etc.)
3. Good computer knowledge and skills (word processing, database management and spreadsheets packages)
4. At least two years' work experience in a similar role in a reputable organization
5. Ability to communicate effectively in English (orally and in writing), interact with others in a professional manner and good time management skills

Remuneration

Basic salary KShs 21,304.00 – KShs 25,895.00 (Job Group 'J'), House allowance KShs 6,000.00 and commuter allowance KShs 4,000.00. Gratuity will be paid at end of contract.
