Stream 1

This report presents an analysis of the progress in health during the period of the Kenya Health Policy Framework, 1994 – 2010. It was developed by the Ministry of Public Health & Sanitation, and the Ministry of Medical Services in partnership with the Ministry of State for Planning, National Development and Vision 2030 (through the Kenya National Bureau of Statistics, KNBS), Ministry of State for Immigration and Registration of Births (Department of Vital Registration), Ministry of higher education, through the University of Nairobi, the Africa Population and Health Research Centre (APHRC).

Stream 2

This report contains four main sections. The first section includes the introduction, methodology and document outline, which presents the background of the report. The second section contains progress against policy imperatives, where the progress on the first six strategic imperatives is reported, together with other achievements, challenges and what was not done. The third section discusses the progress against health sector reform agenda, outlining other achievements, challenges and what was not done. Finally, the fourth section gives a conclusion of the report detailing the emerging issues and the recommendations.
